The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
